ABOUT AUSTRALIA - POWERBALL LOTTO

The Australian Powerball is one of the world's most popular lottery games.  Australia Powerball is Australia’s exciting Powerball game which offers enticing jackpots and is based on the successful American lottery - USA Powerball.
Australian Powerball History
Australian Powerball was created in 1996 by the LotteryWest organization in order to raise funds for community charities for Western Australians. Some of the highest wins include AUD$33 million in 2007, AUD$58.7 million in 2008 and a whopping AUD$80 million (US$83.1 million) in 2009, the highest Australian Powerball jackpot to date.
March 2013 saw the Aussie Powerball Lotto update its rules and prize structure to make room for bigger jackpots and create more winners. Like the USA Powerball Lottery which made adjustments to the game in January 2012 aiming for a similar effect, this Aussie Powerball lottery will carry out a series of changes intended to make the Powerball game a bigger player on the world lottery scene. The draw on March 7th, 2013 will include a total of eight prize divisions, a new guess range of 1-40 and a Powerball guess range of 1-20 instead of 5/45 + 1/45 format, and rollovers on the order of $AU10 million with every unclaimed prize after the lottery passes the AU $10 million mark. Australian Powerball Rules
Players select six numbers from a range of 1-40, as well as an additional number (Powerball) drawn from a separate drum with a guess range of 1-20. The Powerball is required to win the jackpot as well as several secondary prize categories.

Players can select from 6 or 12 line forms and can choose their numbers manually, use preselected numbers (My Lucky Numbers) or have the numbers randomly selected by the system (Quick Pick). Additionally, this lottery offers a systematic form of 7,8, 9 or 10 numbers which produces all possible combinations of the selected numbers and increases the chances of winning a prize. theLotter.com offers Subscription or Multi-Draw online lottery packages to enable customers to never miss a draw while enjoying significant discounts.
The drawings take place every Thursday at 10:45 AM GMT in Australia and ticket sales close approximately 3 hours prior to the draw. The Australian Powerball results are available on theLotter.com Thursday starting from11:30 GMT.
Winning the Australian Powerball
There are seven winning prize categories and the jackpot can be claimed when all five regular numbers as well as the additional number (the Powerball) match the called numbers and the additional number is used towards the jackpot as well as the 3rd, 5th and 7th place prize categories from the seven total prize categories. The Australian Powerball’s jackpot always starts at AUD$3 million and grows as the rollovers continue. There are no taxes on winnings, and winnings are always paid in a lump sum (a one-time payment). Winners must claim their prize within a year of the lucky draw.
