ABOUT NEW JERSEY - PICK SIX

The New Jersey Pick Six is a popular American lottery that totes the motto “Give Your Dreams a Chance,” inspiring players to take a shot at its attractive jackpots.
New Jersey Pick Six History
The New Jersey Pick Six was introduced in May of 1980 to help fund educational programs for the state. The largest New Jersey Pick Six jackpot was won in February of 2001 when one lucky couple claimed a $48.9 million jackpot.
New Jersey Pick Six Rules
To play the lottery online, select six numbers from a guess range of 1-49. Players can enter the lottery with a 5 line entry form and use a random number selector (Quick Pick), draw the number selection from saved numbers in theLotter.com account  (My Numbers) or manually select numbers (Natural Selection). Additionally, players can ensure tickets to all lottery draws while enjoying significant discounts with a Subscription or Multi-Draw exclusively at theLotter.com.
The New Jersey Pick Six is drawn every Monday and Thursday at 20:00 EST in New Jersey, and lottery ticket sales on theLotter.com close approximately three hours prior to the draw. Results for the New Jersey Pick Six are available on theLotter.com at 7:30 GMT Tuesday and Fridays.
Winning the New Jersey Pick Six
There are four prize categories, and winners can take home the jackpot by correctly guessing 6 numbers from a guess range of 1-49.The jackpot starts at $2 million, with no rollover or jackpot cap, and increases by $250,000.00 with every rollover.
The state of New Jersey requires the lottery to withhold a state tax of 25% on wins over $5,000 while non-US residents must pay a 30% tax on all wins over $600. An additional 3% tax applies for all wins over $10,000 regardless of the prize or place of residency.
Winners have one year to claim prizes and can choose to have winnings paid out in a lump sum (a jackpot winner’s choice to receive all winnings at once which may be less than the annuitized payment) or an annuity (any structured fixed jackpot payments that are given over a specified period of time).
The New Jersey Pick Six jackpot record win occurred in February of 2001 when a couple won $48.9 million.  Although certainly an impressive sum, this amount pales in comparison to the Mega Millions lottery record jackpot of $656 million.
New Jersey Pick Six Statistics
One percent of the lottery proceeds are dedicated to administrative costs, 57% reserved for prizes, 5.5% given over to the retailer’s commission, 2% allotted to the seller’s fees, and 34.5% given to the state treasury.
