ABOUT BRAZIL - QUINA

The Quina lottery is one of the only lotteries in the world that is offered six days a week, giving players more chances to win one of Brazil’s most exciting lotteries.
The Quina Lotto celebrates every summer with a Quina de Sao Joao Super Draw, which has an enormous jackpot in honour of the Festival of Sao Joao.

Quina Lotto History
The Quina Lotto was started in March of 1994 by the Caxia Company in order to offer a lottery which would give the players the option of selecting numbers themselves instead of raffle or sweepstake draws which had previously dominated the Brazilian lottery scene. The lottery quickly became one of South America’s favourite lotteries providing excellent value, attractive jackpot winning odds, and draws nearly all week long . The highest Quina Lotto jackpot ever claimed was R$ 10 million ($5.7 million) in 2010.

Another famous annual super draw is Brazilian lottery Mega Sena da Virada, that takes place every New Year's Eve. In 2012, the Meda da Virada jackpot reached R$244 million (US$117 million) and was claimed by three lucky ticket holders.
Quina Lotto Rules
To play the Quina Lotto online, players select five numbers out of a guess range of 1-80. Players can choose to play a 5 line entry or select a systematic form which produces all possible entry combinations of player’s seven lucky numbers and increases the chances of winning a prize. Players can also choose to use pre-selected numbers (My Lucky Numbers), use the random number generator (Quick Pick) or can manually select their numbers (Natural Selection).
Players on theLotter can purchase a Subscription or a Multi-Draw to ensure they never miss a draw while enjoying great discounts.
Online lottery tickets can be bought on theLotter until three hours before the draw. The Quina draws take place every Monday through Saturday at 20:00 PM GMT and results are available on theLotter at 07:00 GMT the next morning.
Winning the Quina Lotto
To claim the Quina Lotto jackpot, players must correctly guess 5 numbers from a guess range of 1-80. Players can also win secondary place prizes in one of the lottery’s other two prize categories with three or four correct guesses. The Quina jackpot starts at $R 300,000, and there is no jackpot or rollover cap. All winnings are paid out in a lump sum (a one-time payment) and are taxed at 13.80%, according to Brazilian Federal tax policy.
Winners have 90 days after the draw to claim their winnings. In the event that a prize goes unclaimed, the money will be transferred to the Fund for Student Financing of Higher Education.
