ABOUT AUSTRIA - LOTTO

Austria Lotto uses a traditional 6/45 play structure and has promised players great winning odds since its founding in 1986. A national favourite, Austria Lotto has doled out enough prizes to make each Austrian citizen a prize winner 50 times over!
Austria Lotto History
Austria Lotto, or Osterreichische Lotterien in German, held its first draw in September 1986, only 3 months after the country formed an official lottery organization, the Austrian Lottery Toto Company. Within a few months, the Austrian Lottery Toto Company offered five smaller lotteries, Letter Lottery, the Small Number Lottery, the Class Lottery and the SportToto, in addition to their flagship lottery, Austria Lotto. Today, the organisation presides over nine lotteries and games, with Austria Lotto as the clear national favourite. Austria Lotto is known as one of the lotto draws with the most pay-outs throughout the prize categories, which has brought it much attention nationwide and abroad.
Some of Austria Lotto’s highest jackpots were €7.5 million in October 2009, and €10 million in May 2008 and October 2011
Austria Lotto Rules
Austria Lotto uses a single drum lottery format, and players choose 6 numbers from a guess range of 1-45. At the time of the draw, a bonus number, called a “Zusatzzahl”, is drawn from the same 1-45 number range. The bonus number cannot contribute to a jackpot-winning combination. However, matching the bonus number helps players win 4 of the 8 secondary prize categories (the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th prizes).
Lottery players at theLotter can play with a 6 or 12 line entry or fill out an 8-number systematic form, which produces all possible entry combinations of the selected numbers. Players can choose to have the system randomly select their numbers (Quick Pick), use saved numbers from theLotter account (My Numbers) or manually select numbers (Natural Selection). Additionally, players can enjoy great discounts and never miss draw when playing Austria Lotto by purchasing a Subscription or Multi-Draw exclusively at theLotter!
Austria Lotto is played every Sunday and Wednesday at 16:30 GMT. Ticket sales close on theLotter at 08:00 GMT on Sunday and at 13:30 GMT on Wednesday before that day's draw.  Lottery results are available on theLotter starting at 18:00 GMT, the same day.
Winning the Austria Lotto
To win the Austria Lotto jackpot, match all 6 numbers drawn in the 1-45 guess range. Austria Lotto has 9 prize categories and a bonus ball, which creates additional ways for players to win. Players are even awarded a prize for guessing the bonus number correctly.
The Austria Lotto's base jackpot is set at €1.5 million, and the prize money rolls over each time a draw does not produce a winner. This rollover policy regularly drives the jackpot up to €5 million, which is the average jackpot value for the Austria Lotto. All prizes are tax-free and can be collected in a one-time lump sum cash payment.
Players benefit from attractive winning odds for the Austria Lotto jackpot prize and all of the secondary prize divisions. Overall, 1 in 16 tickets win a cash prize from the Austria Lotto. Some of the lottery’s notable jackpots were €7.5 million in October 2009, and €10 million in October 2011 and May 2008.
